On November 3rd 2015, Sharone Bar-David addressed a standing-room only nurse leaders forum at HealthAchieve, the annual conference of the Ontario Hospital Association.
“How on Earth Do I Handle that?”— Tackling the Civility Challenge was delivered as an interactive, entertaining and thought-provoking session, focused on how participants can improve workplace civility in healthcare.
Hospitals are intense and high-stress workplaces. When staff experience a rude or disrespectful environment, patients and their families suffer. Bar-David helped delegates make the connection between a respectful workplace and its impact on productivity and patient care. She also provided industrial-strength strategies to tame workplace incivility.
