On November 3rd 2015, Sharone Bar-David addressed a standing-room only nurse leaders forum at HealthAchieve, the annual conference of the Ontario Hospital Association.
“How on Earth Do I Handle that?”— Tackling the Civility Challenge was delivered as an interactive, entertaining and thought-provoking session, focused on how participants can improve workplace civility in healthcare.
Hospitals are intense and high-stress workplaces. When staff experience a rude or disrespectful environment, patients and their families suffer. Bar-David helped delegates make the connection between a respectful workplace and its impact on productivity and patient care. She also provided industrial-strength strategies to tame workplace incivility.
HealthAchieve is the signature conference and exhibition of the Ontario Hospital Association and one of the largest and most respected healthcare events in North America. Celebrating 90 years of innovation and inspiration, HealthAchieve is the preeminent gathering place for healthcare and business leaders.
In conjunction with the session, Hospital News magazine published Sharone Bar-David’s article The Top 5 Ways to Tame Workplace Incivility as well as articles in Canadian Healthcare Manager and Canadian Nurse magazines.
